I'm single & live in a townhome - composting is not a practical solution given the process, time involved, and lower volume waste alone; add to it the fuss of mgmt to avoid smell & critters, etc. I bought a Mill subscription with a little hesitation, but it's exceeded all expectations. I LOVE IT. I feel good about a productive use of all my food waste & that my trash volume has significantly dropped (plummeting my contribution to landfills!!!). And although I opt to return my food grounds to Mill, I'm also happy that I have options to use locally (e.g. to donate to farms, add to local compost pickup who have a table at every farmers market, etc). Mill's customer service was excellent when they addressed an issue I had with my original bin & they ended up replacing it after helpful troubleshooting. I wish for a better price point, especially given that because of my low volume, I don't require their typical frequency of shipping/returns; but the experience of owning one has been a delight. Highly recommend.

What a great device. I love how it turns my food scraps into compost without any messes or smells. The impact report you get after sending your food grounds back is very motivating and feel good. It really does make composting easy!

Mill is an amazing concept.
