Quoddy makes a canoe shoe that I use canoeing. I use a blucher for three season wear. The latter have been resoled and last with the same comfortable fit. Wearing non-constraining footwear has allowed my feet to be free after years of cowboy boots that I no longer wear because my feet have widened and lengthened. With a very high instep, Quoddy footwear takes the shape quickly. I regularly oil and maintain them and never heat them to dry them out. I suggest wearing with quality high density high wool content socks.

More or less wore out a pair of mocassins after 8 years, including one resole. Ordered boots, and love them. The liner makes all the difference for warmth, and if you wear them in the winter I recommend. Well worth the investment.

The shoe exceeds any of the Sperry’s I’ve had, as well as Mephisto. The finish looks and feels fabulous. I’ve always wanted a Vibram sole, which this shoe afforded. As these can be resoled, as well as refinished, you’ll be able to enjoy for many years.
