Oboz Footwear - Production

Solid shoe, comfortable right out of the box. Does take a short while for the stiff leather tongue to soften and not cut into my foot. Size is slightly big (long) but hopefully not an issue. Oboz has changed this shoe design so maybe the updated version will fit better.

Takes time to break them in, but once they are broke in I like them. This is my second pair of Oboz.

I purchased these shoes at the end of winter in Maine with the intention of breaking them in on local walks for late summer hikes in the region. At first I was worried they were too stiff compared to my older model Katabatics. However, with a little wear and warmer weather, they've started to feel more like my foot without a boot on which is generally the feeling I want when fast hiking, jumping boulders, going through streams, etc. . . They're definitely water proofed and I like the mid height for this reason, too. 4 stars because I haven't taken them beyond sea level yet but I have plans to take them to Katahdin next September where I hope they'll do just as well if not better than my old pair.
