These are tough jeans that are not super stiff as new. I have not washed them yet as they advise to wear for a while before washing but I imagine they will continue to soften with wear and washes. They do seem a little larger than size and have some stretch in them but I kept my size instead of sizing down. I prefer the little bit of extra room. I am considering a 2nd pair but will see how these hold up over time.
