While working outside during recent flood rains I realised that my 3000mm Schmerber rated jacket just didn't cut it. My phone got wet in an inside pocket, and water ran down the jacket onto my pants. So I set about finding a replacement for tall people. The solution is a Helly Hansen sailing jacket, which is usefully extended in the body to provide proper run-off. The jacket rating is also 20,000mm Schmerber or better. And it's breatheable. The dark blue colour, and material outer, also makes the jacket usable for general wear, without looking entirely like PPE. The sizes are also exactly as per the measurements and suggestions. I am 2m tall, with a chest (under arms) measurement of 42" (107cm). I ordered the MEN'S PIER 3. 0 COASTAL SAILING JACKET in Large, and it fits perfectly - including my long arms! I have tested it in heavy rain. . . works as advertised! The only issue I faced was the confusing creation of an online account on the SA portal, which resulted in me getting an Australian account. I had to wrangle things to get a working login.
