I appreciate the thoughtfulness put into this product!
There are many features on the Colugo Compact that are super helpful and make my strolling life a bit easier. The extended canopy really does keep the Texas sun from blazing into my girls eyes when either in an upright or reclined position. The quick one-handed fold gave me confidence to take on NYC transit alone with baby. It is a plus that grandma can master the fold and unfold as well, considering this purchase was also made with her in mind. I appreciate the padded shoulder-carry strap and even the small details of the elastic at the base of the carry strap that create more of an ergonomical movement. Being able to place the stroller under a dining table, in an overhead bin, and in many other tight spaces when folded are nice. It fit in the overhead bin on JetBlue without a problem! It's amazing that the rain cover and carry backpack are included with the purchase of the stroller as many other brands do not give this option.
With all of this, there are a few features and structural aspects of the stroller that I struggle with.
Getting baby back to an upright position is not at all an easy task. I have to get down in a squatting position and stabilize the back stay up with one shoulder as I tighten the straps and clip in the back with both hands. This is outweighed by the fact that the seat back really allows for a full recline for good naps as well as a true upright position for an alert baby.
The straps that secure baby into the stroller are a real learning curve. I have a hard time with making sure baby stays centered. The center buckle will be either on the far right or left of her hips shortly into the stroll. Even with the straps as snug as they can be around her waist, her upper body is still not secure in the upper straps which I believe can be corrected as she grows longer.
My baby is only 9 months and isnt yet in shoes with a true grip, but somehow the foot end of the comfort layer is withering away with her only wearing soft shoes.
The wheels I am having the biggest uncertainty with. This is my second stroller after having replaced the first after only four days of receiving it (thank you for great customer service). The first had a faulty front wheel that caused the stroller to shake. This second stroller mildly vibrates but isn't shaking like the first, though a back wheel is rotating slightly inwards when on the go and my child is just barely over 20lbs. I've only used my current stroller for a month and have been mindful to not stroll over intense surfaces. I figured the first stroller was bad luck, but now with having a replacement and experiencing similar problems with the wheels, I am unsure of the longevity of this stroller.
Overall, I feel the pros outweigh the cons, and I am hoping that this stroller and the wheels are built to carry my baby on our adventures as she grows!
