The buying experience through Akubra direct was appalling

Didn’t receive my order, wasted $230.

I had a really bad experience with Akubra direct sales - but purchased my Stylemaster from City Hatters in Melbourne. The Stylemaster is a great hat with cool style and the Federation Blue is an excellent colour. Love the hat.

Unfortunately the sizing instructions were useless. Following them to the letter got me a hat that is way too big, can not be worn, being on sale can not be returned, and now gathers dust. The instructions: "Wrap the measuring tape (or string) around your head, positioning it just above your ears" - that's what I did. But the hat does not come down that far, it sits on the crown of my head, and ends up 3cm above my ears, where my head is a lot smaller. . . Beautiful hat, but I can not wear it.
