Great!

I follow this program for my 8 month old however I mostly just follow the sleep times and the duration to keep bub awake according her age. I don't so much follow the feeding schedule because I breastfeed and there are times when Baby wants to breastfeed more than what the program dictates bcoz as you should know breastfeeding isn't just about being fed....The program doesn't consider the times when a mother needs to feed just out of comfort and for pain relief when teething and to when sick to fight off an illness.....and there are simply times when bub doesn't want solids 5 times a day (3 meals and 2 snacks a day) so I just breastfeed her. ...it would be nice if this was acknowledged...unless you do acknowledge this somewhere in the reading and I've over looked it! If that's the case sorry! Also my 8 month old doesn't sleep through the night....she often wakes for a feed and I'm more than happy to feed her...its bcoz of genuine hunger but I also think it's bcoz she needs it for other reasons like pain relief for her teeth or to help her immune system bcoz maybe that day she picked up a bug and her body wakes at night for milk to fight the bug....I'm sure u get what I mean...all I'm trying to say is that it would make me feel a whole lot better if this stuff is acknowledged and to mention that a baby actually (of any age) sometimes NEEDS to wake at night for not just food..... Apart from this I love your sleep program. Thanks a lot! :)

Unreasonable Expectations

I've given this program a go a couple of times now. The settling tips were good when my son was very small, helped me put him to sleep without needing to endlessly rock him. However, I've always found that the awake times are way, way, way too long and just unachievable for us. They are much longer than what's recommended for the age and now at 7 months, there is no way he could handle not having an afternoon nap. Some babies just need more sleep than others!

Similar info to the previous guide and doesn’t agree with my little one

I bought the previous guide months ago and liked some of the tips but the sleep schedule lead to increased night wakings. I think the lunchtime nap was leaving too long before bed and she went ready for it. I since bought the next guide and the schedule seems very similar so not really a necessary purchase. Plus my little one still isn’t ready for such a long gap before bed at 12 months. They’re all different I guess. Wish I hadn’t wasted £30 on this yo be honest. Ah well, I do find the forum useful for troubleshooting.

Schedules work brilliantly, not practical for breastfed babies

Very informative and educational about sleep. The schedules are spot on, I’ve purchased babies and now toddlers to use the schedules and adapt it to suit my needs. My daughter is 15mo and breastfed. I did not find this type of sleep training practical on a breastfed baby - they fall asleep on the breast and I personally don’t feel you can ‘sleep train’ a breastfeed baby. I will definitely try th strategies in the future
