I was looking for some way to prevent catalytic converter theft (my car, the Prius, is the #1 target of such thefts nationwide, & thefts were increasing in the neighborhoods around me). I was unable to complete my order of a theft protection plate online, & emailed the company. Only hours later I received a callback & was able to complete the order by phone. Price was bearable & my mechanic was able to install it, though he had never seen one before. As to whether it works, we’ll have to wait & see. In any case, I can leave my car on-street or in parking lots without worrying. Cost approximately $350 but that beats $1700+ for a new converter.

I purchased and installed the upgrade kit on my daughter's Prius, following a second theft of the cat converter. The flat cat shield that I installed three years before did not stop the determined thiefs. Now with the end shields installed, the Cat Converter is encapsulated. The most difficult task was installing the front shield. My arm was barely long enough to place the lock washers and nuts on the longer replacement bolts holding the rear engine/transmission mount.
