Already had a helmet lock on the crash bars(er...engine guards) On my 09 Harley Heritage Softail, but got a new LS2 Valiant helmet that had a ratchet quick release instead of D rings. The extender fit perfectly and let me lock up my helmet securely. An inexpensive solution. Eric
