A big reason I bought the skid plates was to protect the catalytic converters from thieves. I am glad I did. The catalytic converters have not been stolen on those trucks but in the past few days they were stolen off an unprotected 1996 Lexus LX450 I just bought! I like that the skid plates are lightweight aluminum yet strong protection from rocks and thieves.
