I bought Mini Rotator some 5 years ago as a lightweight equipment, mainly for shooting simple panoramas with 8mm fisheye lens on full frame camera. It has deserved me well and will continue to do so. But in some occasions, i have really missed the locking feature. Last spring i was shooting the interior of Wolkswagen Multivan. It was rather complex shooting and due to the tight space I was not able to use my Nodal Ninja Ultimate pano head. The problem with Rotator Mini was, that i had to tilt the tripod and the camera. But I was not able to lock the rotator. So i had to use tape to lock it between the shots. Not a stable shooting at all. So as i saw this Version 2 rotator, I knew that i need it. Because Fanotec has added just the one and only feature i was missing for this piece of gear - locking knob. My old rotator will also continue to work, but for more demanding scenarios, and maybe even on pole, i can use that mini rotator with locking feature. I remember the days when I had to buy my first Fanotec gear from a web store far away and wait for the shipment 2 weeks or more. What a joy it is to have a PanoSociety store now, dedicated for the best panoramic gear. Im waiting for freedom360 gear to be in stock.
