I have long been wanting to purchase a G-Shock, but frankly, found the styling of most models unattractive, i.e. the "Darth Vader" look. Then the DW-5600SK-1DR showed up and when offered at a decent discount, I bought. I like the light appearance of the unit, semi-transparent case and strap and mirrored face. It offers the basic functions and all I need, and enjoy wearing it. I suspect it may become a classic only because it's so different in appearance from the general look of most G-Shocks. Let's hope they produce more models that depart from the 'heavy duty' look, though I imagine that's a major selling point in many cases.
