I have had several CatGenie cat boxes over about 15 years. The heating element on one went out, the motor in the processing unit died on another - both well outside of the warranty. I have had the CatGenie 120 my cats now use for about six years, and it has been the most reliable version yet (knock on wood!). I recommend the CatGenie to everyone I know. We go on 7 night cruises - two in the Mediterranean - and it's great to come home and not have a disaster to clean up. Whether coming home from work or trips, the CatGenie makes life simpler, even though it does take semi-annual maintenance (taking it outside, completely disassembling and cleaning it, then putting it back together and in production). Honestly, no matter WHAT cat box you use, maintenance is required. BUT, with CatGenie the day-to-day is pretty much hands-off (unless your cat pulls a baby sock into it. Sheesh!).
