Hatching Time

I have a lot of frustration with the watering system in both of my units (quail set up and brooders).

It was a little hard getting the pieces to snap together. Very poor directions.Didnt even put the water system in. Going to by water bottles instead. Don't have any quail in it yet so not sure if the food dishes work doesn't look like they can reach the food, will use my own dishes. Over all it will do the job.

Good product overall. I really like that the feeder has the waste reduction feature. The egg roll out most of the time but it tends to get kind of dirty of the floor so sometimes the eggs get stuck. I learned recently that If you have larger quail you have to upgrade to the partridge egg roll out system. I wish that they had a middle panel to allow birds to move between two cages. I looked online and could not find one. When I asked customer support if they had a middle panel they referred me to the side panels. The waters I received with the product were the 180 version. These were not very useful as my birds strike from the side never directly from below. It would be better if they shipped them with the 360 version instead. The birds were not able to get enough water from the 180 version and acted like they were drying from thirst. I ended up up grading to a self filling cup from amazon. These worked but had leaking issues as the PVC was not designed for them. After several attempts to stop the leaks I applied water weld epoxy putty at it has been working. I purchased the 2 section quail cage. Mainly I choose to purchase this one because of space limitations in my outdoor setup. Knowing what I know now I might have purchased a three section quail cage instead because these come with a manure tray that can easily be slide in and out instead of having to lift the entire cage every time I need to clean out the manure tray. Over all it is a good product. Customer Service has always been very helpful. I do wish that they offered the option to switch out certain items when you order the product as these cages are quite expensive and if you have to purchase new egg rollouts for Jumbo quail it adds up especially when you have to pay for the shipping. In the future I will probably purchase cages from other suppliers mainly because of the price and because of the need to update the drinkers.

Maybe I just had bad luck but both times I’ve placed orders there have been incorrect parts included in my shipments, however, Hatching Time has in both cases quickly responded to my messages and corrected the issue at no cost to me. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time and what is more important to me is how they correct the issue so five stars for that and for product quality but overall four stars due to order accuracy. I would still order again in the future.
