I always compare prices with other suppliers on the internet mainly because my wife is constantly looking over my shoulder to make sure that I am not spending too much on my fish. Big Al's has the best prices on all of my AquaClear Filter media. I have a regular routine with the filter media, Activated Carbon is only useful for approximately 2 weeks to 18 days, so I use two filters in each tank and change the Activated carbon twice a month alternating the two filters, I change the left filter on the first Tuesday of the month, Completely cleaning the whole filter and removing the old Activated Carbon insert and replacing it with a new one. and two weeks later I do the Right filter the same. Every month I replace the Activated Carbon Insert and every other month I replace the Foam insert and every six months I replace the Bio Max insert. My tanks are always crystal clear and my water parameters are excellent and I thank Big Al's for giving me the best chance to be able to afford to do it.
