Splendide!!!!
We had the 2011 model WD2100XC for years now. It recently quit working and we could no longer find the needed parts for it, so we purchased the newer WDV2200XCD and so far its been working great! It doesn't say that its a tad bigger than the older model, but I believe it is if only a little and that matters. Just don't overload it and follow all the directions and you'll just love it. It has a digital display, a cleaning cycle (those of us who had the older one knew how to program ours to run the cleaning cycle, but this was a nice added plus), has lots of options to set different cycles, the water temps, spin rpm speeds and drying times and even plays a nice little chime when the laundry's done. It really does seem to be an improved version of our older one.
I really didn't want to purchase it from CW due to some unfortunate things that have happened to us with this company in the past, however it was ether that or wait for 2 weeks on one to ship and pay an additional freight charge elsewhere and so we did go in and purchase one on Sat 9-14-24. We went to the Chattanooga store (bc we'd NEVER go to the Nashville store AGAIN) and we actually had a nice buying experience. We were treated very nicely and even got a decent deal on the machine and it does work well. Unfortunately this is my first good experience with CW. They still are NOT my favorite chain, and I'D NEVER GO IN THERE FOR ANY SERVICE or REPAIR (2 VERY BAD experiences),but perhaps at the right store with the right employees you could just buy some component that you needed very badly. We didn't buy the extended warranty. The mere thought of having to rely upon CW for ANY SERVICE OR REPAIR made me cringe, but there is an extended warranted offered through Splendide after you purchase one of there machines. I'm unsure yet what it entails, until I speak with Splendide, BUT If they require service done by anyone in particular, especially CW, I'll probably just decline. As long as you can find parts you can always have one repaired. We travel a lot for work and we usually just use Mobile RV repair. Believe it or not, even for major damage to our RIG. Mobile Repair is quicker, more qualified, so you get better quality and its WOW a lot cheaper than CW! AND NEVER get towed there. You WONT be helped unless you have an appt in advance and even then they take forever, the quality is lousy, and they will damage your RV and risk your personal safety. Just get towed to a Truck Stop or Walmart parking lot and call Mobile Repair. We've learned this the hard way. BUT, If you're shopping for a washer/dryer combo, you cant go wrong with Splendide. Westland(Splendide)are always available to help by phone or email (phone is quicker). They are VERY NICE folks. We had our last one literally for years and it did a great job for us. And this new one, wow, its really doing a great job, too! I'm very happy with my purchase!
Just remember, its small so leave room for the clothes to move around (Fill it ONLY about 1/2 full), Only 2-3 big towels at a time, hang your jeans and thick shirts about 1/2 way through the drying cycle and you'll reduce your wrinkles. Also, a hand held steamer works nice too remove any wrinkles that you may get. Also, understand this machine is 110 so the drying times are longer than on 220. We are full-timers, so we just stay on top of our laundry by doing a couple small loads a day and we hardly EVER have to go to the laundromat. I mostly just go to take my big quilts and blankets and larger items, but I have had to do some big welding shirts at the laundromat to catch up. You can do 1 of them at a time, but I always just hang them up to dry so you have to stay ahead on those. I also do my king sheets, 1 sheet and pillowcase at a time. Remember to run the cleaning cycle like they recommend after every 30 loads and keep your lint cleaned out of the vent hose that goes outside. You can get a long telescopic lint brush at WalMart or on Amazon that works GREAT for that. I usually do that each time that I run that cleaning cycle (so I wont forget) AND check the little bottom trap too for buttons, pennies and yes lint- etc. I always try to watch for things but things do get missed AND remember to keep your door seal wiped out after each wash and keep it dry (If your drying the dryer will dry that for you) and you wont have ANY unpleasant smells. These things will greatly improve your performance and extend the life of your machine. Happy Washing!! :)
