Super versatile

I wear a size 11. 5, and have 2 pairs of these boots in size 12 and 13. I wear the 12’s during wet wading season (sock liner and Yulex wading socks) and 13’s in winter when I wear waders (with thick socks, waders and heat packs). They do run small as some others have noted, but do loosen up once they get wet. Remember to give yourself enough room for cold wading - if your toes are up against the toe box, you’ll be miserable. If you get it dialed in, they are fantastic - light, flexible, durable - makes it easy for me to scramble up and down steep banks.

Best wading boots straight out of the box

I’ve tried everything from wading shoes to neoprene tabi to other named brand boots These are the best and comfortable straight out of the box. The fact they can be re-soled was a huge factor since coral reefs can chew up soles Highly recommend

Favorite boot

I bought my first pair of River Salts in the fall of '19 and have worn them ever since. For the last six years I have relied on them for my weekend trips in the local rivers, week long trips in Colorado, and fishing other spots in the north east over different types of terrain. The boots are extremely comfortable, light weight, provide great support and easy to get into with either a wading sock or wader. I have been impressed with their durability and love the look as well. It was a easy decision to buy a new pair of the River Salts to replace my broken in boots after so many years.

Comfortable/Supportive/Durable

I got these boots as a back up for the Danner Foot Tractor which I've worn for over 10 years and are still in good shape. I just tried them for the first time last week, and wore them through 5 days of fishing in Montana, 4 days on foot and 1 in a boat. These boots are very comfortable and slip on easily, unlike the Danner Foot Tractor's which are snug when you put them on dry but loosen up to comfortable when they are wet. These boots lace up easily, I wrap the laces at the top to ensure the knot is high and tidy on the boot. I didnt put any spikes on yet as we had one float trip. They were slippery on big boulders, but the spikes would fix that. I size up 1x size to fit the waders. Highly recommend.

Best Wading Boots Ever

I have been fly fishing for over 40 years, and graduated from my original wading shoe, tennis sneakers, to my first pair of real wading boots about 30 years ago. I have tried every brand and sole imaginable, and I have never found a pair of boots as comfortable and sticky as these. Out of the box, these wading boots perform as well as the grippiest studded soles or felt. Felt can work great while wading, but it's terrible on land. Studs can stick to some rocks, but catch and mar surfaces on land or a boat. The River Salt Wading Boots work like magic in and out of the water, and are comfortable from the get-go. They run true to size, and I have two pairs: one in my normal street size for wet wading with a pair of neoprene wading socks, and a second pair one size up for pairing with cold-weather wool socks and heavy waders. Be aware that, because of the materials used in construction, they will "shrink" after several uses, but loosen back up once they are on your feet and in the water. They are a little heavier than some other versions, but I find them easy to maneuver, whether fishing from a boat or hiking over rough terrain to my favorite remote stream or river.
