Very satisfied with Vanguard products. The binocular harness is perfect, and a comfortable design. Their quality meets or exceeds any higher end company's and their customer service is top notch, even years later. They recently replaced the eye covers for my husband's 15 year old binoculars, that he lost over the years. They are loyal to their customers. There's no need to look elsewhere.

This is a very well-engineered piece of kit. It is solid, stable and easy to use. Make sure you tighten the U to its shaft, so it doesn't fall off. To adjust the height, loosen the knurled ring at the top of the legs, and simply lift the U to the desired height; the locking ring holds it there. To lower the height, lift the locking ring (right above the knurled ring), slide the U down to the desired position, and drop the locking ring to its lowest position; the U is now locked in the new vertical position. In all but the highest raised position, you can remove any lateral wobble of the shaft by tightening the knurled ring at the top of the legs. To carry the Porta-Aim U hands free, I slide a ring of rope up the closed legs and attach it to my belt with a carabiner clip.

Had to replace my stolen Alta Pro tripod so I went with the 263 AB. While I have yet to use rotating central column. The system is sturdy and expected to function with typical Vanguard quality.
