Styling Gel - Strong

Pro tip: use half the amount you normally would, add water to hands, and emulsify the gel in your hands before applying for crunch-free hold. This gel is amazing. I hate scrunching mousse or gel cast out of my wavy hair because no matter what technique I use, somehow it creates frizz. I started using this gel because of the ingredients (no polyquaterniums or hydroxypropyl guar, both of which build up badly on my hair) and it gives me beautiful hold for a few days with no cast at all (used as described above, small amount emulsified with water). Doesn’t seem to dry my hair out and so far no build up. I use after applying leave-in conditioner, brush style, then glaze the emulsified gel over my waves before scrunching and diffusing. The smell isn’t as magnificent as the Moroccanoil Treatment but it’s similar enough. This is my new go-to styling product.

I can’t believe this gel doesn’t get more play in the curly community. I have wavy-curly, thick, coarse hair. I am afraid of strong hold gels because of build up. I gave this a try because Morrocanoil was having a sale and I love it. It holds my curls and the thing I really like is how well it refreshes. I mist my hair, add a little gel in my hand with water and smooth over it and my curls bounce right back.
