I bought a barn owl box from JCs Wildlife. I am very pleased with it. It looks both beautiful and structurally sound in my backyard. The box arrived well packed and protected very quickly, I think just 3 days or so. Instructions, the mounting brackets, pine shavings and screws were included. I had misunderstood the basic requirements from elsewhere on the internet, believing I could use a 1 1/4 inch schedule 40 pipe. Since I live in suburban area instead of the typical farm or agricultural setting where mounting on a building or tree is covered in the instructions. I contacted their support line about installing/mounting the box on a pipe, the representative I spoke to was extremely helpful. She recommended I change my proposed installation. She was very patient, investigated my concerns and gave detailed instructions about the best way to mount it in my situation. It was recommended to use a 12 ft pressure treated 4x4, I used the 23 inch 2x4 attached to the 4x4 under the box for support. It is very solid.... Just waiting for inhabitants!
