the perfect pan

I love my Always pan!! Nothing sticks!! It is super easy to clean. I haven’t had to soak it or scrub with sponge. Just let the pan cool and everything comes after with light soap and water - they do recommend soaking it with water if needed. But NEVER put cold water in the pan while hot. My only complaint is they don’t recommend any metal used on the pan but the steam basket that comes with the pan is metal…

Warn your loved ones not to purchase; the 'handle' is a hot iron.

Like many people, I was drawn in by the idea of a pan in a pretty colour that did it all. But it turned out quickly that the boxing and packaging the pan came in was more thoughtfully designed than the product itself. Besides being made of a rather cheap painted metal, and besides the fact that the non-slip coating is basically gone after only two months of use following every guideline about cooking on or below medium--there is a serious design flaw that has resulted in many people being seriously burned, myself included. The 'handle' is not a handle, since it cannot be used at any point while the pan is in use. It's made of the same metal as the rest of the pan, and therefore gets as hot as the bottom. They have not sealed it or used an insulating material. You can only use it as a handle when washing the pan, but it sits there while you're cooking, hot as coals, waiting for your attention to slip for for a second. Yes, they include a slip of paper that says the 'handle' gets hot. But for a pan that's meant to replace all other cookware that you plan to use every day, good luck training your muscles and nervous system not to touch something that looks like a handle but is functionally the same as a hot iron. After I'd burned my hand severely enough that I couldn't work for two days, I contacted Our Place about the fact that no link to review had been sent. The rep gave me the run around saying it wouldn't be sent until two months after purchase (it had been well over that by then) and then instead of allowing me to review, threw a refund at me I didn't ask for and continued to dismiss my request to leave honest feedback about this dangerous product. Having been injured by the product, I'm entitled to that refund. However, it was thrown at me to suppress a review, which I reiterated my request for. They proceeded to make up all kinds of excuses as to why they couldn't send me a link to review. We went back and forth for days, with them referring to their design error as my 'accident', avoiding accountability, until I asked to be put in touch with tech support to understand why the review email they claimed to have sent hadn't reached me. Funnily enough, the review email only came through when I mentioned filing a consumer complaint with the FTC and my local government. Interesting how that technical issue cleared up after a week of exhausting, invalidating excuses to suppress this review. There's a good reason you're only seeing five-star reviews; they make it miserable for you to post one unless it's radiantly positive. But, the truth is out there. I'm not the only one by far. And instead of sending their insipid 'handle-helper' free of charge to everyone who purchased this faulty, dangerous product to correct their mistake, they sell it for extra to make a profit off of their serious design error. That's one of the sleaziest parts of all this. It's deeply upsetting to think of people purchasing this for their elderly parents who could be burned just by touching an appendage that appears to be a handle. Try telling a busy mom who's watching kids and balancing many things at once in the kitchen to stay hyper-vigilant and remember every day not to touch the 'handle' that's sitting right there. Try telling a near-sighted person that they can't use the 'handle' to stabilize the pan. It's deeply avoidant of accountability to act like people who burn themselves are just careless. It's almost malevolent to put something on a pan that looks like a handle but sits there waiting for you to forget just for a second that it's not. It's further upsetting to recognize that Our Place knows this, knows about the backlash against their dangerous product that they continue to push instead of designing it safer... and evidently has a mandate to suppress any requests for missing review emails that sound like they might be less than glowing. All in all, a hideous experience. Don't buy this even for the relatives you don't like. This poses a danger to anyone in the kitchen, including children who could be scalded if an adult tries to use the handle as a handle and drops the pan.
