These boots are the best! I got them because I loved how Emma Thompson looked in them in Down Cemetery Road. While they are not offered with the red stripe she had on hers, they are the same boots. I ordered 42s (I wear 9 1/2 in the US) hoping to be able to wear heavy socks and still have toes room. That is exactly what I got. My first day, I wore them for a 3 mile walk and was totally comfortable. And warm in Maine in the winter! I am seriously considering getting the red ones too! I love that color.
