I taught elementary school and have read a lot of children's books over the years. This book is not only well written, but it connects to the others in the theories in laying out a rich history/family tree of Freedom Isle.
This is one of my favorites because the tiger does the right thing and it doesn't seem to work out "right", which is so realistic. And in other books you see that actually because he was rejected from the academy, he is able to be a leader of like a special forces team.
His father's happiness at the end really cinches the truth of this book: truth is something that draws light around us and causes those who really love us to draw closer.
Beautiful story on adoption, genetics, and freedom, too.
