Amazing Guitar!

This guitar is so much fun to play! The Retro EMG's sound terrific. The neck is smooth and fast. The tones are amazing, whether you like playing blues or metal. This guitar is a boss. The Sustainiac pick-up is killer! I recommend for any guitarist! Use 9-42's for a shredding machine! m/

All and all, a solid

All and all, a solid guitar. Understanding what you're buying with any Floyd Rose, Sustaniac edition makes the difference. Deduct the price of those items to get the real price range of guitar you're buying. The Sustaniac is a blast. Yes it's mostly novelty but I didn't buy this for a "warm neck PU", but for the fun. Mine needed the fret ends smoothed, which was different from my other mid range *and lower cost Schecters, which were fantastic out of the box. This is the reason for deducting a star. The were some other minor tweaks that I fully expected for this model, like a slight pain in the rear to lower the action with the Floyd. The really bright humbuckers caught me off guard. Nothing some EQ adjustment couldn't handle but something to be aware of before you buy. No star deduction as I like having my guitars offer a different sound than the last or why buy multiple guitars? I'm kidding, there's always a reason to buy another guitar. AMS was fantastic. Easy to work with a decent shipping times. I will definitely purchase from them again. If you're okay with the things I mentioned to save the $ from the higher end FRS, this definitely does the job.

Maybe its one of the few?

I’ve been using this guitar to record clean tracks and light distortion parts, which is great, it sounds clear and its been an amazing guitar for that. That being said, I decided to take it with me to rehearsal and it shrieked with high pitch feedback on the bridge and middle pickup selector. The sustainiac pickup doesnt seem to have anything wrong with it, I’ve chenged batteries, taken it to a local guitar tech, there’s nothing disconnected or wrong, I guess its just a faulty pick up. All in all, I’d recommend using it in a recording capacity but not in good conscience recommend for rehearsal or even live play.

Good guitar but QC is the absolute worst I have ever seen.

The guitar is amazing if you get one that has actual been threw quality control. The first thing I noticed is the pickup selector did not work at all. Might as well be a decoration. Second the neck is neck was shimmed. I could literally see the screws. AMS offered to replace it but I need the guitar for a project so im taking to to a luthier to have it fixed. Other than that it is a amazing guitar. I would ask AMS to double check it before they ship it if you buy one. As schecter seems to have a absolute garbage QC department.

Schecter Has Problem

Third New Schecter - Third Return! Pickups not working, neck loose, rusty strings, bad neck relief “REAL Bad - Strings down to 8 - 13 frets” This is NOT AMS’s fault! AMS is my “go too” One return went to another company! QC is a great problem with Schecter today!
