This is so sturdy, it could survive in my. college dorm. Even with a standard mattress, the rail is plenty high, which was so important for us! We added a tot rail on the bottom and it makes for the perfect bunk bed for two little kids. The photos don't do the finish justice. It looks classic in that understated expensive sort of way, very comparable to the PBK bunk beds we also looked at. Ours took much longer than anticipated, so be aware that the last mile hauler can add another week or more depending on their delivery scheduling.
