100% felici in NC
Following much research on wood burning ovens, we decided on the Fontana Forni brand and Mangiafuoco model. It's right sized for our family and friends.
Pete Ludlow was super friendly and helpful, answering all our questions and offering advice on our ultimate decision.
Fontana advertised the saputo stones (a must for the best pizza crust) and cover as part of the deal - a great fillip for the price.
The oven arrived palletized, crated, and wrapped & the first inkling that this was a professional company with a quality reputation.
My recommendation: watch the videos for assembly of the cart and placement of the oven. The fit-up on the cart was true and the hardware threaded easily + all parts were in the boxes and bags. The oven is heavy and we followed the suggestion for a team of 4 to lift and place the oven.
Again, we followed the video on building a fire and it will take 40 or so minutes coming to temperature if done right.
Another recommendation: consider what accessories you'll want/need. As in all things cooking, the experience is better with the right tools.
We had two small family and friend parties our first weekend to get accustomed to wood cooking (it's FAST at temperature) and are looking forward to many years of use and experimenting with different dough recipes and proofing techniques.
All in all, 100% satisfied with the Fontana experience!
Buon appetito.
