It's hard to find an ethically manufactured appliance these days. Not only is Oransi transparent apparent about their sourcing and manufacturing, but their packaging was minimal and almost entirely compostable/recylable. In a world where planned obsalescence, single-use plastics, and waste are prevalent, it feels good to support a company with a commitment to responsible practices. So far, the purifier seems like a little powerhouse - we mostly heat our small home with a woodstove and a small electric wall heater for the attached bedroom that was built onto the original footprint. We wanted a quiet purifier to help clean any lingering "summer must" from our Appalachian space to help combat any dust or unwanted particles offput by the electric heater and/or woodstove (the Russion woodstove is highly efficient and puts out minimal particulates into our home, but bringing in loads of wood and dirt from our farm inevitably leads to dust) While it's slightly louder than "whisper quiet", I am an extremely sensitive sleeper and this sounds more like a steady rain than a machine, and doesn't disturb my sleep. Time will tell how long this will last and if this will have the hoped impact of improving our family's sinus issues, but so far, I am satisfied with the investment
