Heatworks

I'll give 5 stars, for my recent part of interaction and pretend it never took 18 months for original kickstarter purchase of Model 3 to arrive. I'll base this review on what I'm being asked and pick up at the time the original unit went out after a month or so of use. I never interacted with the Heatworks site other than filling out the warranty claim after my son went through all the trouble shooting he could and contacting customer support regarding the error code the Model 3 was displaying. He was pleased at how quick he was responded to, but since breaker flip didn't fix the error it meant replacement. I filled out the claim and next day I had a conformation receipt of the replacement. A few days later the replacement unit arrived and my son had it installed just as quick. High marks for customer service, timely shipping. Product is great when it works. My next review may not be so glowing though, because only days after the replacement was installed it started messing up. My son has been the one to deal with support so after back and forth trying to make the thing work properly the conclusion was to fill out another warranty claim. We were having to reset the unit with a breaker flip every time we turned hot water on in the house to clear one error only to have another appear. He tells me he asked for them not to rush a replacement, but rather send a new unit which firmware had been fully updated this time, so as not to keep having these error issues. That is where I am at now. I filled the warranty claim out and haven't heard a word, it going on 3 weeks. I didn't get a replacement conformation receipt and my son hasn't heard anything from the customer support tech he has been dealing with. I did get the conformation that my claim was received and someone would contact us in 1-2 business days, but no one ever did. I'm not thrilled that no one has bothered to contact us to give a status update or offer a time frame when next replacement will be shipped. Good thing we didn't tear out the old hot water tank and trust this model 3 with our hot water needs.

Your support staff is responsive, but your product falls short of my expectations. I continue to receive error messages and am unable to pair the device to my cell phone

I returned a device that had a lot of errors and eventually starting leaking. The exchange process was great but the new device seems a bit more stable but is still producing errors occasionally and not heating the water. I'm resigned to it just not being a reliable product and just rebooting it on the occasion when we need it to help produce enough hot water for a very large jacuzzi tub but we fortunately have standard gas heaters doing most of the work.

I am on my third unit and am attempting to return it for a refund. The problem, as I see it is that even 50 AMPS is not enough to generate hot water. I get warm water and then the breaker trips. I have followed this company and waited for years for the opportunity. Needless to say I am disappointed. Customer service was very helpful up until I decided to pull out.
