I have eczema and water bases lubes (at least the ones I've tried before) always leave my penis feeling raw 1-2 days after use so we've have been using silicone based lubes for YEARS. I decided to give this a try since it was also hypoallergenic and it's great. We both preferred it over the silicone lube and will probably us it for now on (BUT I still prefer the longer lasting silicone for masturbation). I actually like the initial coldness of it, which the silicone doesn't have.
