SoloCam S340

We have an older Eufy system with multiple cameras. The original setup included a home base and two cameras. Since our first purchase I've been able to add a couple of additional cameras that use the same home base and the Eufy app. I wasn't sure if this new SoloCam S340 would be compatible with our system but it is to some extent. It uses the same app so there is only one place to access on my phone. It doesn't connect with my home base but if I'm not mistaken the main advantage to the Homebase is the storage capabilities. This new camera has 8 GB of built in storage. You don't need a smart card and I'm not sure that you can even use a smart card with the SoloCam S340, unlike some of their other cameras. Once you record something onto the camera's storage you have the option to download the video to your phone if you want to keep it. I think there is a paid cloud storage option but one of the main reasons we went with Eufy was to avoid monthly fees.This is our first solar camera and so far we haven't had any problems with adequate power. We did charge the camera through the USB port prior to the installation. Even though this camera uses the same Eufy app, the individual settings are a little different from our other cameras due to the motion tracking and the dual lenses. I'm still getting used to some of the features. We're using it in conjunction with our doorbell camera to get a wider view of our front yard. It alerts us on our phones the same as our other cameras.It came with detailed instructions for mounting the camera and the solar panel but I didn't see anything about downloading the app or connecting it with the app. Fortunately there was a customer video on the webpage that acted as a refresher for me. In the past whenever I needed to contact Eufy regarding my system they were easy to reach and very helpful so the customer service has been good.The camera images are clear and the two separate lenses offer a big advantage over our other cameras. The solar capabilities mean I don't have to worry about getting a ladder to bring the camera inside for charging. So far we are very pleased with this camera as well as our Eufy system.

Motion detection was spot on. The video shows my extra credit wife trying to run from the camera and it still catches her. 10 out of ten.

The battery life lasts forever on this thing plus with the solar charging it makes it even better. The sound is crystal clear. Video is even better. Can pick up and figure out what objects it is even from a long distance. And the motion detection is spot on literally it will pick up everything that goes by. Whether it be a human, A car, or even a squirrel. This thing is absolutely phenomenal and better than the majority of the security cameras that I've come across

I have been using eufy cameras for about 5 years, since their first security camera was introduced on Kickstarter. In my opinion, they make the nicest consumer security cameras on the market. Plus with the built-in storage that each camera has and the HomeBase you can connect your cameras to, you never need to pay a monthly subscription fee to save the videos that your camera captures. I have several eufy security cameras mounted around my home, which all connect to my HomeBase 3. You can still use this camera if you don't have the HomeBase, since it has 8GB of built-in storage. But if you have more than one eufy camera or you want to save more than a few day's worth of videos, you should consider the HomeBase since it has more storage built in and the storage can also be expanded in the future. The 2 features that really set this S340 camera apart from the other eufy cameras I own are the 2 lenses and the fact that the camera can move, similar to my indoor cameras. The pan and tilt capability allows the camera to follow motion, such as a person approaching your house. And the zoom lens gives you a closer look at whatever motion the camera is tracking. Just these 2 features (2 lenses + motion tracking) make this camera the nicest security camera I have ever seen. Certainly the nicest consumer model I have ever used. And the camera also comes with a solar panel to keep the battery charged, which is an add-on feature for most other eufy cameras. I decided to put this camera on my front porch; so I can track delivery drivers, salespeople, and anyone else who approaches my home. But I might get another one for the back of my house, since my current camera can't move and as a result can't cover all of the area I would like to monitor. Whether you are looking for your first security camera or you already own several like I do, the quality and features of this camera make it a must buy in my opinion. I am really impressed with it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to keep their home safe.

This camera is a step above any wire free technology that is out there. The battery life is slightly challenging if your getting a lot of motion from animals etc however the solar panels are great! Overall very impressed with this camera.
