I live in the Blue
I live in the Blue ridge mountains (Georgia) and the internet has alway been a challenge here. Both my wife and I run remote internet based businesses from two different locations, Web meetings, voip phones, wifi mobiles, streaming video etc. . . One forested mountain top and the other a remote forest wilderness valley. The later has a Cross-polarized MIMO external antenna and after a bit of hunting in my forest I found a spot with 5 bars on my phone, ran power and cat6 up a hill, mounted my nighthawk hotspot in an electrical box and ran the 2x2 cable up a tree and mounted the Cross-polarized MIMO external antenna. I get full close to full bandwidth (somehow) but I know the antenna makes a massive difference to signal quality and the up and downloads. Second install uses a MIMO 2x2 Log Periodic External Antenna Kit. I was able to test the both antennas from the same mountain top location and the Log Periodic External Antenna came out far better for that location. I used a phone app called opensignal to help locate my local phone tower, I ended up pointing my Antenna at a completely different tower than what my phone used?? Go figure but the app did show my location and both towers making the install job much easier. I ran at least 50+ netspeed tests to fine tune the Antennas direction. Works great and greatly increases the quality and speed of the 4/5g signal. The build quality of the gear is fantastic and is designed for long term outdoor full weather locations. 5 Stars. Just an install note if you use silicone tape in a wilderness location the critters will eat it, so now after I tape the connectors in silicone tape I add a few layers of duct tape and now they leave it alone. Well done guys for making a great couple of products.
