Ever since I bought my Quad Z4 main speakers 5 years ago, I’ve wanted to add a pair of REl S/510s to provide the scale that only a full range system can provide. Until now, the time was never right; insufficient funds, insufficient room and insufficient persuasion of ‘her indoors’. Then a few weeks ago we moved house and the game was afoot, except by now the S/510 had been discontinued. Imagine my disappointment! Fortunately I managed to acquire one from The Audio Barn and another from REL via those awfully nice chaps at Brighton Richer Sounds. I have been absolutely knocked out by the upgrade to my sound. Following REL’s excellent tutorial I soon had the room position, phase, crossover and gain settings about there and have simply continued to tweak with as wide a variety of recordings as possible. Top tip: Try the Rock Candy Funk Party album The Grooove Is King for set up. You’ll soon know if the gain is too high! As a drummer, I really appreciate the authority that bass drums now have, even on some less than stellar recordings. If the S/510s sound this good I can only imagine what the newer S Series models are like.

Excellent service; my questions about my Rel T7i and T7x subwoofers were answered quickly. These subwoofers are truly fantastic.

My subwoofer needed to be repaired. My experience with REL customer service was great. They were very responsive to my issues and questions. The repair/replacement of the amp was dragging on, and once it hit their time SLA, they reached out and offered me an upgrade version. I appreciate that level of customer service and desire to make their customers happy.
