I have logged thousands of miles and hundreds of hours using the Lifebeam technology. It has functioned well beyond expectations so much so that I would call it one of the best inventions in cycling. Here’s why: - Reliable: Very rarely has it delivered unrealistic measurements. - Exceptional battery life: I have never had it run out on any all-day rides. Nor have I seen the battery life degrade with age as I have with other electronic equipment. - Works well with Garmin 800: I have the ANT+ initial production version and it works flawlessly with my Garmin 800. - Better resolution and performance than a chest strap: I have used a half dozen different chest straps over the past ten years and none have even come close in comparison to the Lifebeam. Lifebeam delivers virtually instantaneous reliable readings. Chest straps, even the newest technologies, still deliver erroneous readings randomly (due to wind, dryness, rain, tightenting/positioning being a few examples). Lifebeam has in my experience not been affected by any of the conditions that affect chest strap functionality. The added advantage of Lifebeam is you don’t have to deal with the discomfort of a chest strap. - Employs the best helmet technology. I think Lazer is one of the best helmets as it is solidly built plus you can buy accessories for the helmet like the plastic shell. The plastic shell fits over the helmet closing the vents so you can ride in the rain, ride in the cold, or make your helmet more aerodynamic. The helmet also seems to fit standard bike helmet transport cases. The addition of the plastic shell also enhances the ability to pack the helmet for travel purposes. - Works with your headware preferences. I ride with a bandana and I have found that if you push it back so the sensor contacts the skin, it does not compromise the LIfebeam functionality. I have a heart condition that requires me to monitor my heart rate while I exercise and Lifebeam has delivered perhaps the most accurate, reliable and affordable technology to help me do what I love to do which is ride my bike. You don’t have to have a heart condition to benefit from what this product has to offer.
