Nikon Z 105mm f/2.8 VR S Macro

Can't say enough about how clear and sharp the photos came out. I used it to photograph an indoor sports competition. I'd read that focus could be slow but that was more my experience. For portions of the event I was far away from the action and got clean images I could crop way into. For reference, I used it on a Nikon z 6iii. Liked it so much I bought it!

Using this on a Z6, I noticed it's sharp and can be unforgiving at times, revealing any light or focus issues. When aligned, images are clean and controlled. I mainly used it for portraits; it simplifies scenes with smooth background fall-off, suited for a natural style. Autofocus shifts sometimes, especially with distance changes; usual for macro lenses, not a flaw, just a note. Macro is slower but delivers detailed shots if you take your time. Overall, it improved my images and encouraged mindful shooting.
