We have a fancy version and have spent $$$ replacing the parts over the years and noticing a decline in productivity, so happy to see this pared-down cooker/steamer for such a fantastic price. You need to get the water ratio correct, and cannot keep the rice in warm mode overnight, but this cooker does exactly what it’s supposed to do without any frills. And the steamer works great! Definitely both the rice cooker and steamer work better as separate functions than together. Still would buy this over the fancy version again.
