These are my third pair
These are my third pair of boots from Milwaukee Boot, and I’ve got the Whitford moc-toe shoe in both colors. They’re both fantastic quality and look great with jeans or chinos.
Then there’s the Harvey. I was immediately attracted to it because of the contrast stitching—it looked blue in my browser and gray in the sole. I thought it would be a great and versatile combination.
But when I got the boot, the contrast stitching was green, not a cool subtle green. In my opinion, that’s a bit much and lessens the versatility of the boot. I’m still keeping it, though, because it’s undeniably well-made. The leather is great quality, and the stitching is almost perfect. I like how the lacing is routed through traditional hiking boot eyelets, which makes lacing up quick and smooth. The shoe shape is interesting too. It’s a substantial boot, but it also looks a bit narrow and sleek in profile while still being roomy in the toe box. It’s a little stiff when you first wear it, but it seems to be breaking in.
Overall, it’s a very good quality shoe, except for the ugly green thread. It would be perfect in blue, black, or a dark gray thread.
