This is our second cat genie. Our first was the cat genie ai. It worked great! The only issue we had was the time it took to clean and we had 2 cats at the time. It cleans so well one cat kept trying to nap in it! We recently purchased the Whoosh as it was the same concept, but a quicker clean cycle. 100% worth it. I wish this was available the first time we purchased 5 years ago. The whoosh does an excellent job and 100% worth the money. We had one of the rotating cat boxes (not a cat genie)as well. It was terrible and more expensive. This is the way to go!

Makes our lives simple and one less thing to worry about

Love this box! It doesn't just scoop, it flushes as well. Truly hands free. We had 3 of the cat genie AI. These were great, but one of our cats is very picky and didn't love the granules. When we saw the Whoosh we tried it out and he loves it since the litter is more natural feeling and doesn't stay wet when they pee like the granules did. We are now replacing the rest of our units with Whoosh as we welcome a fourth cat to the household. For our units, we used a dishwasher tee on the bathroom and laundry room sinks - it made the install slightly more complicated but was an easy, permanent drain solution. Just need to make sure it's on an active sink, as the Whoosh litter does seem to leave some residue after its cleaning cycle, but regular use of the sink easily washes it away.

I had problems with the water valve staying stuck open with my CatGenie AI around a year after purchase. Fortunately I purchased an extended three year warranty and CatGenie was able to send me a replacement processing unit along with a return shipping label for the old unit. All is back to normal now.
