Love the Clusters!
I'll start by saying I never write reviews but decided to do so here because the Honest Kitchen food makes me feel good and if I feel good scooping it into Rigby's bowl then I'm sure he feels even better eating it! I discovered Honest Kitchen when I did research about dry dog food after watching a video post about the extrusion process (how dog kibble is made) and how bad it is for the dogs and their health. Hint -- it's like us eating junky processed food for every meal. The lady in the video then went on to say what you should feed your dog instead of kibble. Things like raw food or fresh food or homemade food. That all sounds great but I honestly don't have the time. I will admit that I used another brand of dehydrated food where you add water and mix in with homemade protein of your choice for my other dog Bandit. He had kidney disease and wasn't eating any of the prescription food anymore and this option worked. I did it for about 6 months before he sadly lost his kidney disease battle in Nov 2020. He was 14. I saw how happy he was eating it and it was nice knowing I controlled the protein but, like I said, if you are very busy then it's a pain with the preparation. So as Bandit was enjoying this other food I thought 'what can I feed Rigby that will be a healthy, yet easier, alternative?' I discovered the Clusters and was impressed with the way the food is prepared and processed and the choice of ingredients as well. I started Rigby out on the grain free turkey clusters and he loved it. He has probably eaten about 4 bags of that and then I decided to switch him to the chicken and oats formula instead. He has eaten about 2 bags so far and I just ordered more. Oh, forgot to mention that my 2 boys are Rat Terriers. Bandit was 14 when he passed and typically weighed 18-19 pounds and Rigby is 2 and weighs 20-22 pounds. Bandit had a normal physique; Rigby is on the thin side and I'm trying to fatten him up a bit. Anyway, I highly recommend the Clusters to anyone who wants a healthy alternative to kibble. If you've never read about the extrusion process, I encourage you to do so and you will see and understand the difference between regular kibble (even the expensive stuff! trust me, I was feeding them both high quality dog food from a good brand previously (not junk)) and the Honest Kitchen!!! The difference is unbelievable. Thank you Honest Kitchen!!! 💙🐾💙🐾
